I told Samantha I was thinking about writing about Squishmallows and asked, "Are they AWESOME or evil?" She replied excitedly, "They're AWESOME! You can fluff on them!" (whatever that means lol)
Ok. Ok. So that's what a 9-year-old girl thinks about Squishmallows. But I'm wondering what the parents think?
Last time I counted, she had over 28 Squishmallows. Squishmallows are these incredibly soft pillows and stuffed animals are irresistibly cute. You can find them on Amazon, Target, Wal-Mart, and other stores. They became the go-to gift for family members and rewards for milestones. Birthdays. Christmases. Just going to the store and you see a mini for $5.99 you can't pass up....
Sometimes the cuteness of these squishy pillows can rub off on adults, too. Each one has a name while some have stories and others have "squishdates," like birthdates.
All sounds lovely, right? The evil comes in when your daughter sees the amount of them but wishes she had a clean, crisp, "aesthetic" room. So out come the garbage bags. Her monster collection went on holiday in the shed for a few months before she wanted them to come out again. But, she did want them out so that's good. Everyday is a new day making her dreams come true!
Beware, they have come out with slippers, notebooks, stickers, wallets, and more. It doesn't just stop at squishy stuffed animals.
Let me know how you and your family feels about Squishmallows and how you handle the clutter in the comments! There are so many!
